Nails like Whoah

Catering to the customers satisfaction by building the acrylic up instead of out is the talk. Pictured below is the new new by Hoa Bui at Ann's Nail Salon.
I heard this was the happening trend in Philly. I haven't decided how I feel about this yet.
I love the fact that these would set you aside from everyone else. They are different and the nail art is ill but I seen a lot of negative feeback on these bad boys.

Bubble Nails:
Unique...yes. Weird on a disturbing level... yes. Would I rock them... prolly. Could I really wear them... ughh, prolly not.

I want to know what you guys think about these. Ladies? Fellas?

Halloween @ Black Dragon

I stole this picture from KOOLFOOL.
I wish every Month was Halloween. What A fun day.

Daybreak Suckas

Well, I'm an early bird... I cant help it. As much as I want to sleep in, as much as I love counting sheep and catching Z's, it just wont work. My shuteye lasts for about 6 hours every night; no more no less. Last night I stayed in in hopes for amazing sleep and to rise at noon. Ha! I laugh to myself as today was the third day in a row I have been challenged with sleep deprivation and said, "Good Morning" at 4am. Unquestionably, I think it sucks, but there is something hellacious about getting up early. Yesterday, I got up and spent the first hour drinking coffee and browsing the Internet for items I would like to buy. I then baked brownies with a marshmallow center and a Godiva chocolate top(that shit was sooo good), followed by cleaning the house, doing laundry, giving my dog a bath, going for a run, and taking a shower. I left for work at 9:30am. Being productive: its a beautiful thing. Again, I awoke at the break of dawn. As I pushed the blankets off me, I felt the cold air creeping on my arms. It was so chilly! With goosebumps, I sat up and could see nothing but black for the sun doesn't rise for another two hours. I went downstairs to make some coffee thinking about how I wish I could go back to bed and then sat down to read some trash magazines. As I went to go pour my last cup of coffee I glanced outside to witness my favorite part of being an early bird. With the mornings pristine, I caught a glimpse of the first blush. The sunrise: So radiant, so sublime.
I took some pictures for those who werent lucky enough to catch it! I think that people need to take more time to realize what beauty in life can be. Indubitably, nature has its ways.

The Beat of Urban Art

I heart Justin Bua.
Every viewer can get a piece of culture and Urban Realism through this hip hop heads work. Through his distorted characters, Justin Bua creates a positive energy that flows with darker color tones and sets the mood. Emerging to the surface, he portrays stories of his life and invites us all in to relate to the passion, soul, and inspiration that drives him.
He represents a movement. His hip hop appeal is unique, stylish, and arresting. Justin Bua is the shit.
Can you feel it?

Are You for Real?

Dear Kool Fool,

As we all know, Megan Fox is ridiculously good looking, has some sense of style and some lovely tattoos. What we did not know is... that it is possible to airbrush the way Ms. Fox does in the movie Transformers?
What the shit?
That movie sucked.
Sincerely,
Shugar

I Know You Hear It, but... Can You Feel It?

I remember the first time I put these on my ears. It was a year ago in fact, I was in the apple store in the mall. I went there to replace my laptop charger and got a little sidetracked. There they were... the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre, sitting on the table with a sample ipod. My eyes were drawn straight in and I picked them up. As they comfortably gripped my ears, I grabbed the ipod and started browsing through songs. The sound was incredible, it's high-definition was crisp and clear. Standing alone in the store, I shut my eyes and felt the music. 5 minutes later, the sales clerk was tapping on my shoulder asking if I needed any help. I just smiled and replied, " No thank you, this is all I need." I walked up to the check-out line and was about to purchase these bad boys when I then got a glance of the price. $350.00.... REALLY? I thought to myself I better go home and do my research. I left the Apple store empty handed even forgetting my charger... Real Nice.
The reviews other people have on Beats by Dre are 50/50. Majority state that they are good headphones but not fair enough for the price. It has been a year and the price has dropped 100 bones at most places. Think its worth it now!?

Oh but wait....
Lady Gaga came out with Heart Beats! A fashionista sista with the same high-quality sound... hmm... This may be my shit.

Do You Know Your Rights?

Ken & Dana Design
Mmmmmhmmm. Now, this is some jewelry that intrigues me.Creating both jewelry for men and women, Ken & Dana believe that art in all forms tells a story. I do too, to say the least. It was said in their vision statement that "particular jewelry have long been vessels of showcasing wealth and social standing". This is so true as you stare at the lady in the checkout line that is blinding you with her 5k engagement ring. Watch out, shit gets deep when Ken & Dana bring you their art which goes far and beyond simplistic forms of expression. Ken & Dana intended to "connect with viewers on an emotional level as well as an aesthetic one."
And that my friends, is exactly what they are doing in their B-side Line-Jewelry remixed: Rights, Graffiti and Geometry.
RIGHTS
"This series uses four landmark civil rights case ID numbers as it’s voice. We are drawn to numbers that can evoke emotion and carry such significance and meaning. Initially cryptic these four groupings of numbers and letters remind us all to fight injustice. "
517 U.S. 620 1996 – Romer v. Evans – protects against discrimination by sexual orientation.
258 U.S. 130 1922 – Leser v. Garnett – upholds 19th amendment – Women’s right to vote.
347 U.S. 483 1954 – Brown v. Board of Education – desegregates schools.
388 U.S. 1 1967 – Loving v. Virgina – legalizes interracial marriage.
GEOMETRY
"While exploring New York’s Street art for our Graffiti series we drawn to the significance of what was written on as much as the writing itself. That relationship between graffiti and NY’s buildings was the inspiration for our "geometry" series. "
GRAFFITI "Inspired by the raw expression and rebellious nature of this controversial art form we have created a series of works that emulate different writing styles, abstract NYC walls, and highlight the illegal aspect of Graffiti."

"It is art that makes life, makes interest, makes importance... and I know of no substitute whatever for the force and beauty of its process."
- Henry James

Abridgment of Self-Constraint

Will Power
–noun
1. control of one's impulses and actions; self-control.
or
2. The strength of will to carry out one's decisions, wishes, or plans.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do believe that I am a strong woman. I do believe that I have the strength to achieve my goals and be successful in conclusion. I do believe that I accomplish my plans.
When it comes to work I am disciplined, concentrated, systematic and skillful... but when it comes to shoes and candy I have no will power.

Yesterday was again day one which I had failed. I had made it till 6:30pm where I then indulged in chocolate from the FreshMarket followed by ice cream topped with m&m's, hot fudge and nutella.

Another act lacking self control occurred yesterday was when I thought I needed a pair of winter boots. I gave in to some BCBG's. On impulse, my hands reached for these boots. I saw a glow around them as the surrounding background was blurred. I felt the soft leather of these eye rendering pull-on boots and abruptly grabbed them off the shelf. The lining stitch was clean and uninterrupted and with the round toe and 4-1/4" stacked cone heel they screamed keep me.

Yes, sometimes, I do lack repression of thy self.

Real Talk: No Photoshop

At the age of 35, Liu Bolin from China is called the "Invisible man". This man started to use his art to protest against government actions after they shut down his art studio 4 years ago. "Its about not fitting into modern society," and that's why Liu manages to blend in to a picture by painting himself in camouflage to match his surroundings.
Very Cool.
