I do believe that I am a strong woman. I do believe that I have the strength to achieve my goals and be successful in conclusion. I do believe that I accomplish my plans.

When it comes to work I am disciplined, concentrated, systematic and skillful... but when it comes to shoes and candy I have no will power.

Yesterday was again day one which I had failed. I had made it till 6:30pm where I then indulged in chocolate from the FreshMarket followed by ice cream topped with m&m's, hot fudge and nutella.

Another act lacking self control occurred yesterday was when I thought I needed a pair of winter boots. I gave in to some BCBG's. On impulse, my hands reached for these boots. I saw a glow around them as the surrounding background was blurred. I felt the soft leather of these eye rendering pull-on boots and abruptly grabbed them off the shelf. The lining stitch was clean and uninterrupted and with the round toe and 4-1/4" stacked cone heel they screamed keep me.

Yes, sometimes, I do lack repression of thy self.

"Its about not fitting into modern society," and that's why Liu manages to blend in to a picture by painting himself in camouflage to match his surroundings.

Finding Time

7:26 am this is what I get...

My led foot has got me into trouble before but this is absolutely rediculous.  Driving this morning was dumb dumb dumb. When a cop asked you why you are speeding, you usually want to reply with some kindof good excuse. Maybe along the lines: Well you see I'm late for work and the other employee on was just rushed to the hospital or ... I think im having a child or... something really is wrong at home, I need to get there immidiately or... if you really want to get out of it... talk about some personal issues and you need to get to a restroom asap... haha. And of course all these excuses pop into my head but when a cop asks me why Im speeding... I reply with a blank stare. I got nothing. Not one word but a shake of my head. I see him mean muggin me and my stomach drops. I know this is going to be bad. He grabs my liscense from me and heads back to his car while I sit there waiting to see what the damage is.

About a year ago I had got pulled over in the exact same place. It was bad just like today... My ticket was expensive and my points were high. A lawyer had to write some good words for me to get my points reduced but my insurance still went up. Thats another issue. My insurance company was just talking about how that ticket is dropped soon and the fees are going to be a lot less... Well now that I had to go out and do wrong... I have to pay the price... the price of my ticket, the price of a lawyer to keep my points, and the price of my insurance when it rockets.

Boooooo to my life this morning.

Last night I missed out on homemade sweet potato pie, stew and chicken curry.

Ive never had sweet potato pie before but I love candied yams and Im assuming... they may be similar? Is this what sweet potato pie looks like?

Because sweet potatoes are good for you, the pie part cancels out... meaning...I can eat a whole pie? Right? Last time George came back from the market with a shoo fly pie and Nancy and him at it all. (If I blame them it will make me feel better about myself )

All this scrumptious talk made me real hungry. The other day I had a carmel apple, a snickers bar, and rice pudding all before 7am. Today it was a pumpkin scone and apple pie. Fall is great for some great comfort food.

Although this is going to be week one of defoodie-ing, not counthing this morning, George and Rachel will not have left overs much longer...

Last Weekend: Country Ass Bumpkins

Sunday evening I had returned from West Virginia where I had been flown out to do some wedding photography.

Conclusion:

Although the trees were dipped in beautiful autumn colors and the moonshine was flowin, WV creeps me out.

• I stayed in a motel that looked like the one in "The House on the Left."
• A woman had entered my room at 1am on Saturday where I had woken up to her standing in the middle of my room with her creepy stare. She then proceeded to run into my bathroom and slam the door which was closed for about 5 minutes. Heart beating, I sat up and was trying to think of what to do. Do I run out? Do I ask what she is doing in my room? I was sick to my stomach and could barely move. Not much longer, she ran out of the bathroom into the hallway leaving my lights on and my door wide open.
• Scary.
• The town where I had stayed had no sidewalks and park their cars on their lawns.
• There were many broken down haunted houses.
• I saw not one bit of sunlight in that town this weekend.
• It seemed as though they had many stray dogs.
• The restaurant I had ate at on Friday night had very good service but didn't know how to make a brandy old fashion, a vodka gimlet, a amaretto stone sour, or any of the other nice drinks you would like to enjoy on your weekend out of town.
• I felt like it was a ghost town.

The cool thing was that many, not all, but many people still live in the 80's with light blue scrunchy socks and hair with12 inch raised bangs and three pony tail holders down the back for an updo that goes for days. The ladies and fellas for the most part were polite and welcoming. I did spend my mornings at a coffee shop called hypno-cafe were the coffee was hot and fresh and the lattes were delicious. Despite the gloomy weather, the 20 person party and the Bride and Groom were beautiful country people filled with great hospitality.

Davis, West Virginia: Where you do not belong unless you grew up in that town...Home of Hicks, Hillbilly's and Hippies. : )
